About the Therapist

Hi! My name is Priscilla Gonzalez. I love to cook, sing, run, travel, and just generally learn and do new things. I have been married for nearly 5 years, no kids yet! My family is extremely important to me and I spend time with my nephews (they are in the pictures next to this) as much as I possibly can. I am Mexican-American, born and raised in San Diego, CA and am a native Spanish speaker. I’m very passionate about doing volunteer service and helping my community in whatever ways I can.

I’m a speech-language pathologist and am interested in working with all ages and diagnoses, but have a special interest in working with children with language delays and disorders as well as with adults experiencing expressive aphasia post-stroke and/or TBIs. I am a big AAC user and advocate, I believe in incorporating AAC in nearly all treatment plans. I love my job and am fueled by the idea of truly making a difference in people’s and families’ lives.

My mission: I decided to start Thrive Speech Services with the motive of truly wanting to help families without the restraints of productivity demands and caseload numbers. I want to provide QUALITY services to my clients and their families. What does this mean to me? It means looking at the individual as a whole. I want to provide families with the necessary education and support to truly THRIVE. I want families to truly know and understand the resources that are available to them, the evidence-based practices that fit their needs best, and all the different ways and strategies that will truly help their family member (child or adult) thrive in their communication abilities.
